Thea Murphy is now Managing Director of Silver Pail Dairy. Thea has a degree in Food Technology from UCC and has worked in the family business since 1998. Initially undertaking technical and product development roles in both the ice cream and cream liqueur areas of the business, she then moved into customer and product management roles before taking over as Managing Director in recent years.

About Silver Pail Dairy

Located in the town of Fermoy, Silver Pail Dairy is the largest ice cream manufacturer in Ireland. Founded in 1978 by Michael Murphy it remains a family owned and run business, Silver Pail has almost 40 years’ experience in the manufacture of high quality ice cream, frozen desserts and cream liqueur.

The company is based in the heart of the Irish countryside, providing ready access to fresh dairy products of the highest quality. Fresh milk and cream are delivered daily to the dairy.

Innovation and product development is the cornerstone of the service offered by Silver Pail Dairy to our customers. Our product development team is comprised of both chef led culinary skills and technical knowledge, this combination allows us to develop and commercialise delicious, appealing and technically innovative products in an efficient manner.

A commitment to excellence has facilitated the expansion of the original factory to 80,000 square feet, giving a capacity of over 40 million litres of ice cream per annum. All production, quality testing, new product development and administration are located onsite.
