In her role as Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Deirdre leads the development and implementation of Lidl Ireland and Northern Irelands sustainability strategy. This includes a broad scope of topics from carbon footprint reductions and responsible sourcing of products to food waste reduction initiatives and stakeholder engagement. Lidl’s ambitious CSR programme was recognised at the 2018 Chambers Ireland CSR Awards where Lidl the coveted top accolade, Outstanding Achievement in CSR Award.

Deirdre is also an Irish Olympian; she competed at the London 2012 Olympics in the High jump. Through sport she developed a keen interest in nutrition health and well-being which prompted her decision to advance into the food industry. Before joining Lidl, Deirdre worked for Ornua, Nestle Switzerland, and Metro Group, Germany and worked with Bord Bia on the Origin Green ambassador programme.
